PACE presents the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar, Lyrics by Tim Rice, Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Written at the end of the 1960's, Webber and Rice's profoundly iconoclastic take on the last seven days of Jesus' life serves to this day as a cautionary tale of the dangers of celebrity adulation and deification. While passing no direct judgement on the divinity of Jesus, PACE's vision brings the 1970 rock musical into today, taking head-on the role that corporate media has played in exalting and crucifying those whose voices and talents have touched the hearts of the people.
